Exactly one year has passed since May 30, 2023, when in Italy, thanks to the approval of the Legislative Decree n. 34 of 03/30/2023, dental graduates were authorized to practice aesthetic medicine on the whole face. This was a turning point in the world of dentistry, because after almost 40 years, an amendment was made to article 2 of law 409/85, the article that gave rise to the figure of the dentist. Since May 30th, dentists have been able to practice non-invasive or minimally invasive aesthetic medicine in all areas of the face, namely the upper, middle and lower thirds.
This breakthrough has had a truly significant impact on the category of dentists who, thanks to treatments such as biorevitalization, the use of botulinum toxin, fillers and traction wires, have been able to refine and improve their performance and treat problems such as “gummy smile” or bruxism.
